Apply a plastic roofing fixing cement to the whole cut-out. The patch should be nailed once it has been properly installed. To repair damaged sections, use galvanized repairs nails that are spaced approximately 2 inches apart.

The second patch must extend at least two inches beyond the first on both sides. Apply roofing cement over the first repair patch. It must extend out at least 3 inches beyond the edge. The second repair is similar to the first, in that it must be held down as the cement is applied.
