What is the role of support in League of Legends?
The Support role is all about making sure things run smoothly for your team. You help facilitate vision control, protect your ADC, and provide game-changing crowd control. If you won’t enjoy the game if you’re not getting a high amount of kills or farm, you’re probably better off picking another role.

When playing against utility Supports, stand next to the ADC and in line with them. This will allow you to trade with the enemy as well as protect your ADC. Most utility Supports will not be looking to trade often, but if they walk forward you can walk slightly backward and then move back when they’ve fallen back.
Is support important in League of Legends?
Support is probably the least important. People could just solo lane or play safe/utility ADCs. Mid and jg definitely dictate the tempo of the early-mid game though unless top or bot can ahead enough to pull pressure to them.
Is ADC the hardest role?
Your one and pretty much only heuristic is: “Attack the closest target, at max range.” Pretty much every other role is juggling a ton of different decisions at any point in time, ADC simply doesn’t. Though, most people advocate that ADC is the hardest role because it requires mechanics.

Supports are somewhat special. They can be mechanically difficult (thresh/bard) but they’re mostly about knowing when and where to ward, when to roam and keeping an eye on general macro across the map as they don’t have to focus that much on their lane.
Is Leona good for beginners?
It’s very helpful when trying to crack the enemies base but in the current game it generally isn’t enough to break the base on it’s own. If you’re not strong enough to break the base it may push you over the edge, or make it easier if you are, but it’s not enough to easily crack the game open.

There is also one other option to countering engage champions, not being in the lane altogether. Roaming around the map and getting the rest of your team ahead is also a pretty good way to shut down that kill potential in the bot lane. The support most known for roaming is Bard.
Is Rakan a good support?
He gets a movement speed bonus and when he comes in contact with an enemy champion they get charmed for a few seconds. It also deals damage to the enemies hit. Upon stating his kit, I may say that Rakan is a good support. He’s not great but his kit is good for setting kills for his team especially his ADC.
